Bizarre is something that’s very strangeor unusual.

We all know that Phrases and Idioms adds a little something to our plain-janevocabulary.

Phrases और idioms के इस्तेमाल से आप अपनी आम बोल चाल को impressive वinteresting बना सकते हैं।

Well, today we’ll try tojazz up our English vocabulary a little.

आज हम सीखेंगे कुछ funny English phrases और बोल-चाल में उनका प्रयोग करना।

Meaning: To be pregnant ( गर्भवती होना )
किसी महिला को directly pregnant कहने से बचने क लिए ‘up the duff’ एक EUPHEMISM की तरह इस्तेमाल किया जाता है।

• Maria is really worried these days because herteenage daughter is upthe duff.
• Maria वास्तव में इन दिनों बहुत चिंतित है क्योंकि उसकी teenage बेटी pregnant है।

Meaning: Different people suited for different purposes ( अलग अलग उद्देश्यों के अनुकूल अलग लोग )
इस phrase का प्रयोग यह दर्शाने के लिए किया जाता है कि अलग-अलग कार्यों को करने के लिए suitable लोगों का चुनाव करना आवश्यक है ।

• I think you should hire an experienced professional rather than a fresher for this important project. After all, it’s horses for courses.
• मुझे लगता है कि आपको इस महत्वपूर्ण परियोजना के लिए एक नए कर्मचारी के बजाय एक अनुभवी पेशेवर को रखना चाहिए। आखिर कार, ख़ास काम के लिए निपुण व्यक्ति ही ठीक रहता है।

Meaning: To achieve or do something with great ease ( अत्यंत आसानी से कुछ मिल जाना या हासिल करना )
यदि किसी एक कार्य को करना बाएं हाथ का खेल है, तब हम इस phrase का प्रयोग कर सकते हैं ।

• You add two cups of water to the mix, heat it for five minutes andBob’s your uncle, the soup is ready.
• मिश्रण में दो कप पानी मिलाकर इसे पांच मिनट के लिए गरम करें और बस, सूप तैयार है।

Meaning: A long time period ( एक लंबे समय की अवधि )
एक लम्बे समय के बाद किसी से मिलने पर इसका प्रयोग किया जा सकता है।

• It feels like I’m seeing you after what seems like donkey’s years.
• ऐसा लगता है कि जैसे मै तुम्हे बहुत लम्बे समय के बाद देख रहा हूँ।

Meaning: To disappoint, upset, or annoy someone (किसी को निराश, दुखी या परेशान करना )
कोई अजीबो-गरीब याuncomfortable अनुभव होने पर इसका प्रयोग किया जाता है।

• His life’s struggle’s story really bummed me out.
• उनके जीवन के संघर्ष की कहानी ने मुझे बेहद निराश कर दिया।

Meaning: To eat too much or to become very fat ( अधिक खाना या बहुत मोटा होना )
यदि कोई व्यक्ति एक pig की तरह ज़रूरत से ज़्यादा खाए या कम समय में बेहद मोटापा gainकर ले, तब हम इस phrase का प्रयोग कर सकते हैं।

• These days, kids love to pig out on junk food all day long.
• आजकल बच्चों को पुरे दिन सिर्फ़ junk food खाने मे ही आनंद आता है।

Meaning: Extremely tasty ( बेहद स्वादिष्ट )
यह बहुत commonly इस्तेमाल किये जाने वाला expressionहै जो कि बहुत ही स्वादिष्ट व्यंजन के लिए use किया जाता है।

• This restaurant’s food is finger lickin’ good.
• इस restaurant का भोजन बहुत ही स्वादिष्ट है।

Meaning: At a loss for words ( चुप लग जाना )
जब आप किसी ऐसे अनुभव से गुज़रे जो आपको बिल्कुल मौन कर दे, तब हम यह phrase use कर सकते हैं।

• Answer my question or has the cat got your tongue?
• मेरे सवाल का जवाब दो, या फिर तुम्हे चुप लग गई है?

Meaning: To make fun of someone ( किसी का मज़ाक बनाना )
इस phrase का प्रयोग तब किया जाता है जब आप किसी के साथ व्यंग करें।

• Don’t take my words too personally, I was just taking the mickey out of you.
• मेरे शब्दों को व्यक्तिगत रूप से न लें, मैं आपके साथ सिर्फ़ मज़ाक कर रहा था।

Meaning: An irregularly arranged, unfair legal procedure ( एक अनियमित रूप से व्यवस्थित व अनुचित कानूनी प्रक्रिया )
अनुचित, गैर-कानूनी या पक्षपाती तरीके से फैसले लेने वाली सभा को ‘kangaroo court’ कहा जाता है।

• Some areas of this country are still away from the law and abide by the decisions of the kangaroo courts.
• इस देश के कुछ क्षेत्र अभी भी कानून की सुविधाओं से दूर हैं और अवैध अदालतों के फैसले का पालन करते हैं।
